In History we aim to develop all children's sense of identity through learning about the development of Britain, Europe and the world. Our purpose is to introduce children to what is involved in understanding and interpreting the past, while engendering a love of the subject. At Key Stage 2, history is about people, important events and developments from recent and more distant times. As well as chronological understanding and knowledge of facts, we develop the skills of historical interpretation and enquiry.
Our curriculum will make strong links to our local history and encourages children to have an appreciation of their own rich historical environment.
